Negatives:
Landlord did not tell me that the house is a silent house after 10pm, or that there’s an additional male tenant in the house during the viewing. He only said that there’s a female Indonesian student in the house whom I’d be sharing the bathroom with. On the night that I moved in (at 1130pm), he conveniently told me that the house is a silent house after 10pm. I was shocked because I shower at 1/2am every night after walking my dog. I have severe anxiety and have a routine to stick to. He said that’s not going to work and asked me to shower in the morning. He then conveniently mentioned about the existence of the extra male tenant. I told him that if he had told me all this prior, I wouldn’t have moved in. He told me that I could leave immediately or anytime and he’d give me the money back(£1330). I said okay. So 4 days later, I told him I’m moving out. He said alright and that he would give me the money back, but called me the next day saying that he can’t give me the money till December due to bad financials. He also brought his family over to stay without telling me and I have to share a bathroom with them. He also lied about some other stuff. He’s definitely not giving me my money back
Advice for next tenants:
Don’t stay here unless you’re comfortable with a dishonest landlord. You gotta tip top around your own room as well and close your door super gently so that it doesn’t creak because its a silent house.
