Positive:
really close to town and seven dials but far enough away that it's not that noisy. lovely neighbours. big rooms and period features like wood floors and big sash windows. cool in summer. you can see the sea! it's about 10 minutes away. modern conveniences including induction hobs, drench shower, small dishwasher.
Negatives:
the extension to add on a bathroom, shower, and kitchen, has been done very badly with a flat roof, and now the water is leaking in through the gaps between the original property and the extension, so there is mould and rising damp coming under the walls. The bathroom is never dry, and attempt to deal with a leak in the walls put a hole in the wall of the bathroom they never patched up- more damp. the house has been rewired and replumbed so many times it's hard to see where the pipes and wires are coming from or going to, and it takes ages to get hot water. There have been leaks in the past.
The managing agents demand to see photos or video evidence of any fault before they considering fixing it, which delays repairs by a day at least.
it's cold in winter and hard to heat up the extension since it's poorly insulated, and can go down to 14 degrees regularly in winter, sucking the heat out of the flat.
the kitchen now has mould mites and terrible damp, constantly humid.
