Positive:
The rent was cheap for the location, the management team of the building is lovely (the security guards). The property management team (SB Living) through which I rented was also responsive. It's the landlord that's the problem.
Great location, central but not too noisy at least before they started redoing the building facade.
Negatives:
The fire alarm is broken, I found this out the hard way. No alarm until the smoke reached the corridor and triggered the building alarm, and I was asleep, I could have died. It is probably illegal but at that point I was just looking to move out ASAP. When I moved in the whole apartment looked like a crime scene of grease and dirt, I can't imagine what the previous tenant did with the place to be honest. The walls were stained with oils and other substances I don't want to get into. I had to scrub everything down myself. The refrigerator, heaters, and microwave were not functioning either, and for the first month I lived without a fridge. I bought my own microwave and temporary heater. Halfway through my rental one of the light bulbs went out, I called to have it replaced. No response for a week and a half and then one day I went home and found that someone had stepped over my bed, breaking an art piece I had hung on the wall, but the light bulb fixed. Didn't take me long to figure out what had happened, but feeling extremely unsafe as well, living as a girl alone that random strangers have keys to my door.
Also, no washing machine or laundry service anywhere near.
