Overall
Positive:
We decorated this house exactly as we wanted and had nothing taken from the deposit when we left as we actually improved the property which was reflected when they only increased the rent by £30 in 2 years. The neighbours were lovely and kept our packages but also respectful of our privacy. The house was big and had plenty of room and the garage was huge.
Negatives:
Getting anything fixed was just not a thing that happened even though it was rented through savilles. Storm Arwin made our roof leak and it didn’t get fixed until 8 months later and even then they never got round to redecorating the place from the damage before we moved out 2 years later. One of the reasons we moved out was because of the black mould which I complained about twice per week and they did nothing about. I was bleaching it every day at one point and it was causing real issues. This was an issue with a window seal and a faulty drain above it. Nobody lived in it for 8 months after us so they might have got it fixed in that time. Also it’s council tax band E. delivery for food options are terrible.
Advice for next tenants:
Keep up with the garden. We had most of it laid to gravel at the back but there is still a lot of grass and the hedges at the front and back need doing by a proper person. The next door neighbours will give you a number. 240’s man is cheaper than 236’s hedge guy. Never forget to put your hand break on when parked on the drive and try to reverse on as the cars on Hexham Road drive fast.
