Negatives:
Damp, condensation, poor communication from agency (BRLC) Problems were usually blamed on us. The flat has an airflow problem so wet builds up on all windows, black mould starts to grow, anything wood will get a layer of mould. This wasnt my first time renting, i know how to address these issues but it was relentless in this flat. Floor boards were spongy and buckled, paint began to peel. I located a leak in the bathroom window but that the letting agent refused to acknowledge. Overall it was just a huge mouldy hassle.
Advice for next tenants:
Check bathroom window for leak when it rains. Flag all wet windows and mould immediately and have faith that you are not the first to flag this, even though the agency will say otherwise!
