Overall

Positive:

The property has a great location and the housemates I lived with were pleasant. fairly cheap the landlord did usually fix things... eventually Had a garden which i tamed- it was completely over grown when i moved in, the blackberries vines covered the entire patio.

Negatives:

The landlord really delays maintenance and just doesn't fix things quickly or to a high standard. if you let him know of an issue hell say ""thanks, i'll be round soon to fix it"" and that means at some point in the next 6 months he'll pop round he insisted on doing all fixes himself, or having his mates do them on the cheap. which would be fine except he had no availability to do so. he would only replace things with freebies he got doing house removals but rarely got around to fitting the replacements. we had parts of a window in the living room the whole 3.5 years i lived there and there was an oven the the middle of the living room for months as well. we had about 3 months where the front door didn't lock and didn't always stay closed, we had a hole in the kitchen celling (internal) for several months after a pipe under the shower burst and he cut a hole in the celling to fix it the handle for my bedroom door kept falling off to the point the door could not be opened from the inside so i had to leave my room door open at all times the boiler had to be pressurised most mornings and he flat out refused to get that looked at the house had a significant mould issue. my bedroom had damp coming in from the outside wall and all the plaster on the bottom half of the external wall fell off. the living room had no windows adn suffered terribly from damp, one of the sofas was full of mould and no about of mould spray could keep up.

Advice for next tenants:

It was quite cheap so if you really need a place go for it. however if you can afford better do it. you can never feel fully at home at the place is full of junk and the mould, damp, and constant sting of issues is just depressing.
