Negatives:
Landlord kicked us out with a months notice to turn it into an Airbnb, which is fair enough as COVID restrictions that had previously required a 6 month notice period had been lifted (still extremely annoying as this was only our 2nd month living there despite being promised we could stay there for at last a year). The most annoying part was the bizarre behaviour of the management company, Murray and Currie. They sent us an email telling us we had a month to move out at 4:57 on a friday afternoon, no doubt so that we'd see it after their office had shut for the weekend. Their attempts to help us find a new property were minimal, only recommending us to check their main listing page as frequently as possible. Our contact at M&C saying 'sorry! not our fault though!' as often as humanly possible didn't make our flat search any easier, funnily enough.
Advice for next tenants:
Don't deal with Murray and Currie. Untrained 'professionals' doing the bare minimum and profiting wildly off of an increasingly expensive rental market.
