Positive:
It's in a great location at the bottom of Park Street. You couldn't get more central. Stones trow from the O2 academy, clubs, harbourside etc. Other neighbours were mostly students or couples who were friendly and respectful. Flat was warm and on first glance looks cute.
Negatives:
- Major roof leak that was unaddressed for over a year. Filmed it, reported it. Got a response but then our contact immediately closed the maintenance ticket? Leaked in bathroom every time it rained, we left a bucket that filled up overnight, everynight. They couldn't care less about the state of their own property. - This leak caused makor electrical issues. Leaked into the shared fire alarm system causing it to go off. - No bin area. Since bin bags have to be put directly on the curb on bin day, communal rubbish sits in the lobby for the rest of the week causing a disgusting smell. - Management company is mysterious and absent. Our contact 'Andrea/Ange' only works a few hours in the morning Mon-Weds. If you have an emergency outside of those hours, you're out of luck! - Estate agent said it came with white goods, we pointed out the washing machine on viewing and they said 'yes'. Only to move in and find there is no washing machine. - Had a mouse infestation. We saw them several times. After reporting they sent the pest controller to the wrong flat. We chased, and the response was 'okay, we'll send them out again, but if they don't find mice we will charge you for the call out'. Like what?? Do you think we're reporting mice for the fun of it?? - Downstairs flat flooded as sewer drains got backed up. We couldn't reach the meanagement company and had to live elsewhere for a week. - air circulation system (not air con) in the bedroom that cannot be turned off. Can be quite loud. - no natural light in bedroom.
Advice for next tenants:
Survivable if you're a student, and a good location. Invest in earplugs are you are next to 3 nightclubs. If you have an issue, report it on a ticket and chase weekly.
