Negatives:
At the beginning, the landlord was responsive and helpful. However, once he knew I was leaving, communication became more difficult. He returned my £2,000 deposit in parts and was hesitant to release it in full. In the end, he kept £10, claiming it was for one day of council tax, but he never provided any receipt or proof. The deposit was held up for weeks over this £10. He also tried to condition my reference on rearranging the furniture, saying he would only provide a good reference for my next rental if I complied. He struggled to find a new tenant and called me almost every day (x2 he did viewings without giving notice).
Advice for next tenants:
It's ok for one person but not a couple. It is hard to get it warm, especially the bedroom. It is also noisy as it is on the main road. Price will likely get increased at the end of the contract.
