Overall
Positive:
The town/area is fantastic. Close proximity to a train station, plenty of cafes and a local co-op. Incredible views in the flat. Spacious rooms and entrance hall. Good storage.
Negatives:
Flat suffers from major damp issues. Inside storage cupboards the walls were covered in mould. Believe they just painted over the mould before we moved in rather than solving the issue. The bathroom floor was completely rotten underneath the vinyl, so much so that the fixed items such as the bidet and toilet were wobbly. Whenever we reached out about damp, we were just told to open the windows when showering, which we did anyway, alongside using the extraction fan. No help for mould ever received. We had to throw out a lot of our belongings that became unsalvageable. Neighbours ask you (the renter) to pay for things in the area that are the landlords responsibility. They advertised the property as two bedrooms but it's one really as the second box room is so small that it cannot fit a bed, though it does make for a decent office.
Advice for next tenants:
If it has been renovated and restored it would be an absolutely fantastic property, but do your due diligence and check the mould inside storage cupboards etc.
