Overall

Positive:

The building was fairly modern and spacious, and the flat itself was quite clean when we moved in. Oh and there are solar panels on the roof so your electric bill might be a little lower - though I'm sure the landlord recoups this in extra rent. You're also only a walk away from the town centre, if you can call Weston town centre a positive.

Negatives:

The communal areas were absolutely filthy, all of the time. People in the building freely dealt drugs from their flat 24/7. We had people ring our doorbell by mistake at all hours of the night. Everybody is noisy. You will hear people having sex, fighting, throwing things at each other, breaking things, playing music and partying for 18 hours straight all through the night, and every other noise you could imagine a person or two making. The area is dodgy as hell. We lived here for just shy of 18 months and had to call the police 5-6 times, sometimes on neighbours. We came home to find the area cordoned off by armed police twice, and we're fairly sure we witnessed people trying to cover up a murder across the road. I am not exaggerating. The roads outside are loud all day unsurprisingly. The pollution is abysmal. Got a car? Good luck trying to park it on your ""designated"" parking space. Everyone pays for a parking space as part of their rent, but it's entirely first-come-first-serve with absolutely no system in place for who could park where. We spent 18 months petitioning the landlord to number the parking spaces so everyone knew whose was whose, and he avoided doing it the entire time despite constant promises from the management company. One of my neighbours tried to start a fight with my Dad when he visited us, because he'd parked in ""his parking spot"". The parking situation got even better when a large group of Eastern European men were kicked out of a disused lot up the road, and turned our parking area into their 24/7 van maintenance workshop. I confronted them about it and they turned threatening. Reported it to the management company who said they'd get the police involved - never heard anything back from anyone by the time we moved out. Lastly there's some kind of halfway house for troubled teenagers across the street - not a problem in itself, except they'll frequently gather in the parking area of your building to drink and do NOS and try to start fights with you while you check your post box. Oh and I almost forgot the homeless woman who lived in the building's parking area. Again not a problem except she would leave human faeces and used sanitary products all over the gaff. No idea if she's still there but just helps to paint the picture of the area.

Advice for next tenants:

All-in-all you might feel somewhat comfortable when you're in your own home with the door locked and ear-plugs in. But take one step outside your front door or expect to get a full night's sleep on a weekend and you'll realise you're living in a shit hole.
